Furyk expecting successful return in 2012
Golfer Jim Furyk, who has a successful 2010 season, struggled early in the last season and now the golfer is gearing up for the 2012 season in a different way – by taking time off from the game. He will not be taking part in the Hyundai Tournament of Champions as he did not win in last season. He is using this off time for improving his game and preparing for the 2012 season.
Speaking about his game, Jim said that he lost some confidence along the way during last year, but he did not lose confidence in the fact that he is not going to go from player of the year to he can't play anymore. He realized that one can lose confidence a lot quicker in this game than one can gain it. One can lose it quickly, but one have to build up some momentum, build up some time and some consistency before that person gain a lot of confidence back and he thinks that he is hopefully back on track to doing so. He feels a lot better about his game.
There are various aspects of his game, but Jim focusing mostly to putting being the most prominent issue. Jim tried out different strokes and models. He tried to find out some of his weaknesses. He told that he is trying to get a little longer off the tee and also trying to hit the ball a bit farther. He further added that he like the ball he was playing. It was spinning a little bit less than the products he had played in the past.
Last year, at this point of time, he was preparing himself for the opening run on Maui and Oahu, after winning three times in 2010.He is giving himself enough time to improve before venturing out once again.
With some recent improvement, the golfer thinks that his game has taken the right direction.
